To Climb A Gold Mountain [Feature Documentary 2014 Co-Executive Producer]
To Climb a gold Mountain traces the lives of a five of these women, beginning in the 1850s when the first Chinatown appeared in Los Angeles and traveling over 160 years to the 21st century and its arrival as a locus of Chinese-American life. These characters - two from the 19th century, two from the 20th, and a fifth in our 21st - appeared from starkly different backgrounds and lived dramatically different lives, some are all but forgotten, while others reached pinnacles of power and influence. While each in her own way climbed a gold mountain, they share bonds that have transcended time and circumstance. Through the stories of their lives and a reflection of the times in which they lived, the film will relate both the tragic and the triumphant, trace the plots that made Chinatown what it is today, and reveal its heart throughout.
